    Benedictine College
  • Master of Arts, 1991

Fred began his life as a professional tutor in 1989 while attending graduate school. He has been a classroom teacher on the middle school, high school, and college levels. He has taught English on every grade level from seventh grade to college sophomore.

Fred pursues and cherishes variety in his life. In addition to public-school teaching and private tutoring, he owned and operated a heavy-duty trucking business for a number of years. He has logged over a million safe miles driving coast-to-coast in the United States. He prepared the study guides for the Kansas Driver’s License Learner’s permit and the Commercial Driver’s License out of his love for travel and safe driving. The critical thinking questions in the study guides proceed from years of practical experience on the road.

As a new twist on his teaching career, Fred became an instructor in Okinawan Shorin-ryu Karate. He holds a second-degree black belt and competes in tournaments in the Topeka area and in Kansas City. By this route, far into his career, he finally became an instructor of students at the elementary school level.

He has lived in Kansas most of his life and has lived in Topeka since 2001.
